A friend of mine with a split personality disorder gifted me a two original canvas pictures recently.
Art is his doorway to some kind of relief from his disorder.
When i listen to him wax lyrical about his work, i am always in awe of the descriptions and narrative behind each canvas he produces and he is prolific in his creations.
Any backing will do, hard board, wood, canvas it matters not, what really matters is creation.
Part 1.

Part 2

Part 3

Whilst it seems ridiculous to have part 1, 2 and 3 it’s not. One persons interpretation of art is different to another’s.
Part 1 depicts, a rather huge split of personality, two persons at odds with each other but more foreboding is the mass of mayhem on each side, a third person wreaking havoc between the two others!
Part 2 is a representation of “control.” Still two persons but who, whilst at odds with each other have some control over the “third in the middle” nonetheless, the divide is still great.
Part 3 is hope! Hope that one day to two will come together as one and that some normality might just be possible. The chaos surrounding the one is still there, always will be, but it gives hope.
Personally I can never imagine the constant battle for “normality” in his world, part 1 and 2 are normal. Part 3 is an aspiration that perhaps will never really materialise.
