Currently I’m taking part in Kernowcrafts craft challenge on Instagram, which today is day 12 Learning.
I’m not usually a fan of these things, but so far I have stuck to it religiously.
This is a small selection of my reading material as those who know me know I never go anywhere without a book.
These are the books I’m currently reading as I home in on my metalsmithing skills and improve my knowledge and techniques.
The crystal bible is the goto book for those who love working with healing crystals and want to know more.
It’s a book that I refer to constantly along with the other 2 volumes, so I always have it close by.
The polishing book is my newest acquisition, just a reference to learn and understand how I achieve the polish finish I want
There are some interesting projects within the Stonesetting book that I’d like to give a bash at with my unique twist.
As crafters we should be constantly learning, pushing design boundaries, trying new designs and techniques to expand our repertoire, otherwise we just get stuck in a rut.
What do you think?
What are you currently reading?
I am a bore when it comes to books! I do read a LOT about web related stuff but it is constantly changing so a book purchased this month is old hat in 6 months time.
When i started out, i bought loads particularly in the CSS scope but now only reference a few trustworthy sites for the latest “trend” and standards.
Yes in the world of IT things change very rapidly, as I have bookshelves full of old IT tech that I really don’t know what to do with them.
With the jewellery I did start by using libraries, but with the lockdowns and everything, I just decided for the cost I might as well just buy them, then I can scribble mark in wild abandonment without worrying about fines!
Most things havent changed that much so they have a longer life span.
